Other technologies can be combined with an ocean thermal energy conversion system designed to produce electricity, such as SWAC (Sea Water Air Conditioning), desalination, industrial cooling and aquaculture. Seawater pumping, used to produce electricity, thus benefits other players.

 Environmental and energy issues

These plants represent an effective response to the environmental and energy issues faced by island regions with limited land availability, needs for renewable electricity and cooling as well as high-quality drinking water.

In the scope of these projects, Naval Energies provides its expertise in engineering and scaling the plant’s overall system, and in the design, construction and installation of the heat exchangers (condensers and evaporators) for the production of electricity and cooling. Naval Energies is currently the world’s only company capable of committing to the performance of its exchangers.
